Almost Guilt Free Chocolate Chip Cookies
By Michelle Sala, Integrative Health Coach
If you are trying to cut back on refined sugar and eat low-carb then you have to try these cookies! The secret to making cookies low carb is replacing sugar for Lakanto which is safe for diabetics and children. Lakando doesn’t have the weird aftertaste of other sugar substitutes. You can purchased the Lakanto sugar substitute on Amazon. It’s a mixture of erythritol* and monk fruit and measures 1:1 with regular sugar so it makes converting your favorite recipes to sugar-free easy!
The other trick to make these lower carb is to use chocolate chips with a high cocoa percentage. There are sugar-free chocolate chips available but make sure they are free of sucralose, acesulfame-K and GMO ingredients. Lilly’s brand chocolate chips uses erythritol and stevia which is good. If you want to go au natural, use cacao nibs. They won’t have that gooey-ness, but they will be super healthy!
